Our Story…

It is upon these foundations, and desire to deliver excellence, that Atherapy was formed back in 1998 by Dave Hancock head physio to some of the top sports teams, actors, athletes and musicians.

Over the subsequent years we have grown to a nationwide network of clinics with our dedicated and brilliant staff committed to delivering this specialist approach for you.

With our clinics set within some of the UK’s finest fitness training facilities and with our fantastic reputation amongst some of the world’s leading orthopaedic and sports medicine specialists, we are able to provide our patients with only the best in physiotherapeutic care. At Atherapy it is all about you; we understand that no two people, or injuries, are the same. We take the time to understand your problem, discuss your clinical diagnosis, and outline a personalised treatment plan.

Dave Hancock MSc,MCSP,PT,BHSc,CSCS,

CEO and Founder, Atherapy

Dave is our founder and CEO of Atherapy. His CV has taken him to be the Head Physiotherapist of Leeds United Football Club, Chelsea Football Club and the Performance Director of the New York Knicks Basketball Team. Has has over 22 years of experience as a physio, strength coach and Director of Performance working at the highest level in rugby, football and basketball. He is a certified PT both in the UK and the USA.

He is a qualified strength coach and holds two Masters degrees in Sports Exercise Medicine and Manipulation. Dave was the first British physio to be recruited full time for six years by an NBA franchise as a Performance Director. He has also attended the 2010 Soccer World Cup and the 2012 European Finals. Working for the English Senior Men’s National soccer team for five years.

Dave has lectured all around the world, published many medical /scientific papers on ACL rehabilitation and sports injuries, he is also a member of the Nike Performance Board (USA). Dave brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team and you the client, having worked with some of the world’s top Athletes, Actors and Musicians. His experiences and knowledge are world renowned.[/read]
