Shock Wave Therapy
Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy London
Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) is a multidisciplinary device used in orthopaedics, physiotherapy and sports medicine to promote fast pain relief and tissue restoration. Together with being a non-surgical therapy with no need for painkillers, it makes it an ideal therapy to speed up the recovery of a variety of acute or chronic musculoskeletal conditions. A number of our physiotherapists here at Atherapy are trained in using this modality and it can be used as part of your ongoing treatment programme or you could be referred directly to us from a consultant who requests a set period of specific ESWT treatment. We commonly see this modality used when treating tendon injuries at numerous sites on the body and also on plantar fasciitis.
